Meet the Tribe
Welcome to Tres Chic Living – a personal fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. We are two friends living in New England who have gone through many different life phases together, from college and single life to weddings and mom life – one thing that’s always been a staple is our love for fashion and empowering each other. There are so many amazing fashion blogs out there, but we sometimes struggle finding styles that look good on our unique shapes and body types. Let’s be honest, we’ve all had the experience of “expectation vs. reality fails” when shopping at some point or another — models can make a burlap sack look good! So we wanted to create a place where we can share tips, tricks, and styles that look good on both of us…and help you find the styles that are most flattering too. Fashion is fun and should be fun for everyone! Follow along for our fashion hits and misses and see how we add a little chic to our everyday!
Hey, I’m Alla – if you can’t pronounce it, you’re in good company! I work in an office setting, so professional clothes are a must…as are nice heels, which my 5-year old daughter steals and hides from me on a regular basis – the shoe obsession runs deep in the family and starts at an early age I guess. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with fashion – I love how clothes look on others, but many times hate how they look on me! Pants and dresses have never been a problem for me – it’s finding flattering tops that I’ve always had a hard time with. I love timeless pieces – I still have clothes in my closet from high school – and look for styles that I know I will love for years to come, not just the season. And with two kids, a full time job, and a million activities, I’m always on the hunt for effortless looks. For those of you who have the same struggles – follow along, as I test out different styles to find what works best!
Outside of work, I also love to travel, both domestically and abroad. I also love any type of adventure – from white water rafting, to hiking, zip lining, and even sky diving. My husband keeps me grounded, and tries to steer me away from bad decisions. I’m excited to be able to share our adventures in fashion and life with you!
Hi! I’m Anna. “You must have played basketball…” – I get this every week! No, I actually never played b-ball – although maybe I should have! You can ask my husband, my lay-up needs some work, although I can absolutely hold my own at H-O-R-S-E! Anyways… I’m constantly getting ask about my b-ball game because I’m 5’10” and let me tell you, shopping for certain items (i.e., pants!) can be tough #thestruggleisreal. The bright side, I’ve never had a problem with shoes – they always seem to fit just right. What’s that they say?… “if the shoe fits, buy it” – yup, that’s what I thought!
I love anything with a little [ruffle, sparkle or glam] — if given a choice, you’ll find me at the beach — and although my parents told me “it will pass,” the travel bug got me early on, I have insane case of wanderlust and will never get tired of exploring new places. I work full-time in an office healthcare setting for the past 10 years, my favorite part being taking care of my patients.
I certainly love fashion and have found it brings me lots of joy! I’ve found the MOST important thing in life is to surround yourself with people/things/experiences that bring you joy. My latest little joy, Catherine is just a few months old and while on maternity leave, I decided what better time than now to indulge in my creative and colorful side?!? As I learn to navigate my new role as a mother of two precious little girls and juggle work and play, I hope you’ll join me in sharing this crazy, joyous adventure! I can’t wait to share my style inspirations with you!
